Houses of Slovenian Istria are a marvelous 'accommodation peculiarity' and a great addition to the tourist offer of the Slovenian coastal region! Kozlovič family has built 3 small houses in the remote Truške village, on the hillocks of Koper hinterland. They are situated in a beautiful natural surroundings amidst vineyards. The architecture itself as well as the interior are still the way they used to be: simple, modest and pretty. The houses are without water and electricity – we are actually transferred a hundred years into the past, when our ancestors still lived as one with nature.
You can pick fresh fruit, vegetables or herbs in front of the houses yourself. Plus you can arrange other homemade Istrian treats or a lavish breakfast made exclusively of home-grown goods! The pride of the house is especially their extra virgin olive oil and wine ('refošk' and 'malvazija'), which they also make themselves.
Although bathroom facilities are not inside the houses, they are only a few meters away. If there are more of you, you can also set up tents in front of the houses. Or you can rent 'normal' rooms and apartments belonging to Kozlovič family, which are located in the nearby building. A fully equipped kitchen and a terrace with a barbecue and sunbeds are both available too.
There is probably no need to emphasize that the area itself is wonderfully peaceful. Ask your hosts about numerous walks and sights nearby. They can also show you the hidden corners of Slovenian Istria themselves, since they know this region like the back of their hand. Depending on the season, you can join them at olive picking, harvesting the vineyard or searching for wild asparagus and mushrooms.
If this place is too peaceful for you, you can get to Koper or Portorož in barely 15 minutes!
I was completely captivated by these little houses, I'm sure you will like them too!
