How to get there:
On the main road 'Bled - Bohinj' turn right towards Jereka village (just before Bohinjska Bistrica). In Jereka go right and ascend up to Koprivnik where you turn left from the main road and park by a church.
Description:
Start your trip in the lovely tranquil hamlet of Koprivnik. The most famous admirer of the viewpoint was Valentin Vodnik, an important Slovenian poet and writer who was a priest in Koprivnik and also gave the viewpoint its name. Signposts will direct you from the church to the left onto a narrow asphalt road. The road is nicely marked and will take you along a gentle slope past pretty meadows and partly through a forest. From the viewpoint you will see the beautiful Upper Bohinj valley and Lake Bohinj, trapped between the rocky mounds of Rudnica and Studor. There are wonderful benches on the summit - an excellent place for a rest in the sun. If you have brought a snack with you in your bagpack, the view will be even nicer…
If you want a little more physical activity on your way to Vodnik viewpoint, you can start the trip in Jereka village from where the ascent along the marked path will take a good hour.
