Starting point:
From the road 'Jesenice – Kranjska Gora' turn to the right into Dovje village and follow signposts for Dovška Baba for approximately one kilometer. Park behind a bridge over stream Mlinca (near a few houses) where the marked path to Dovška Baba branches off to the left (around 800 m).
Description:
There are two options for ascent:
A) A shorter and steeper one: The marked path branches of the forest road about a kilometer above Dovje. At a turning after crossing the small bridge over stream Mlinca there is a sign which directs you to the left into the forest. Follow the markings and ascend mostly through the forest, past a meadow with a couple of demolished cottages. Go around the rocky Bela Peč on the right side and after that you merge with the road again and continue on it until Dovška Rožca meadow.
B) A longer but flatter one: Follow the road throughout and take a shortcut across a meadow by a nicely rebuilt wooden-stony house (at around 1160 altitude meters). You will merge with the road a bit higher up and follow it until Dovška Rožca meadow. A pleasant walk leads from the meadow to the summit of Dovška Baba, with a gorgeous view on Karavanke mountain chain and the summits above Vrata valley.
